Real Madrid are considering a blockbuster swap deal, offering Vinicius Junior to Manchester City in exchange for Erling Haaland. Contract talks with Vinicius have stalled, with the 25-year-old demanding higher wages than Kylian Mbappe. Madrid believe including him could reduce City’s €200m+ valuation of Haaland, who has scored 126 goals in 147 games and is open to a 2026 move.
For the past few weeks, Real Madrid have been at the centre of transfer headlines after reports from Spain suggested the club is exploring a blockbuster swap deal involving Erling Haaland and Vinicius Junior. Contract renewal talks between Vinicius and Los Blancos have stalled, with the Brazilian demanding a salary higher than Kylian Mbappe’s. Real Madrid, unwilling to meet these wage demands, are now open to selling him as early as next summer.
Vinicius, 25, has long been linked with a potential €350 million move to Saudi Arabia, but Manchester City have emerged as strong contenders. According to Spanish outlet Fichajes, Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is considering offering Vinicius to Pep Guardiola’s side in exchange for Haaland. The Norwegian striker, who has scored an astonishing 126 goals in 147 appearances for City, is viewed as the ideal partner for Mbappe at the Bernabeu.
While City value Haaland at more than €200 million, Madrid believe including Vinicius in the deal would significantly lower the financial cost. Reports further suggest Haaland is waiting for a call from Perez, eyeing a possible move to Spain in 2026. If completed, the swap would represent one of football’s most historic transfer deals.
